I hail from Oswaldtwistle and wrote the famous “Battle of Sabden Treacle Mines” which won the Sidmouth Folk Festival Award in 1978. Sang with the Blue Water Folk for twenty years.I created the Lancashire Drift programme for BBC Radio Lancashire and was a former Lancashire Dialect Committee Member. I have broadcast many times on TV and radio, and have produced two LPs and three cassettes, the latest are CDs
